Boat ride around Saut du Doubs

One part of the river is french and the other is swiss

Back in Franche-Comte France

We went on a bike ride around the small towns next to his (La Chaux de Gilley) in Haut Doubs

Typical architecture for Xavier's region. The chiminey is called a tuyé (a large smoking chimney). They smoke the salt meats: brési (dried smoked beef), Morteau sausage, Luxeuil ham, Montbéliard sausage, and Ballon des Vosges smoked shoulder.

Opening Olympic Day

In the spirit of the start of the games, I went down to the lake to the Olympic Museum to check it out and join the count down until the ceremony began while Xavier was at Nestle.

We took a night swim in the lake but then a storm came in with lightening so we had to get out

This is the winefrom where Xavier comes from "Jura". We drank it with dinner after the night swim. Very good! It is not related to the vineyard pics here. Jura wine is easy to find in Jura of course, but not in other parts of France and especially outside of France!
